HORIZONTAL AXIS MACHINING CENTERS

Horizontal machining, also known as milling, relies on rotating cutters to remove metal from a workpiece.

Horizontal machining takes place on a Horizontal Machining Center, which uses a horizontal spindle. With a horizontally oriented spindle, chips are chipped on the side of a workpiece, thus favoring the chips to fall off the table.

The Horizontal Machining Centers also allow the integration of a two-blade changer to facilitate unattended operation and reduce manufacturing cycle times.
